The new Steady Editor gives you plenty of scope to create your posts the way you want them.

Whether you want to publish articles, blog posts, updates or podcast episodes: All this is made even easier with the new Steady Editor. And more practical features are on their way, too.

Start writing right away

The new Steady Editor puts your content front and centre.

Get started right away and take care of formatting, visibility and other settings later.

The sleek new Steady Editor allows you to let off steam, without distractions. Just like on a blank sheet of paper.

When you create a new post, a simple blinking cursor is all you will see.

You can start writing straight away — and with the options in the handy bar at the bottom of the screen, everything is quickly formatted. You can add titles and teasers, as well as lists, quotes, links, etc.

All options are bundled in a bar at the bottom of the screen.

Embed images, videos, posts and other content

You can also insert images using the same formatting bar — or simply drag and drop them into the editor. You can also include Vimeo or YouTube videos, social media and other external content by simply copying its link into the editor.

Publishing with the new Steady Editor — it’s a smooth ride.

Upload audio directly in the editor

If you are not hosting your podcast on Steady, you can publish your episodes in a Steady post by simply inserting the URL for your audio file into the editor.

You can also upload your episodes or other audio material such as interview clips directly to Steady. Click on the microphone icon in the bar at the bottom of the screen and select your file, or drag and drop it into the editor. A small audio player will appear in your post.

You can insert audio via link or upload it directly into the editor.

Customise social media previews before publishing

If you are satisfied with your post, it’s time to play with the settings before you go ahead and publish. You can change your visibility settings, as well as scheduling a publishing date and time.

Another new feature is the preview option for social media posts.

What’s new is that you can now specify for each post whether your members should receive an email notification when it is published.

And another new feature is the preview option for social media posts.

If you don’t quite like the way your post is displayed on Facebook, Twitter etc., you can customise it and change the picture, title or teaser text, for example.

More updates on the way — including leads and mailing features

In the editor rebuild, two functions will be temporarily removed: the leads feature (meaning you cannot collect potential members’ email addresses, for the time being) and the voting feature. We will be revising both of these features, however, and bring them back in a new design shortly.

If you need to run a poll, you can use tools like Poll For All, Typeform, Pollsights oder JotForm and embed them in your post.

We are also working hard on more features that will make publishing even easier. These include the option to deliver the complete content of a post as an email.
